About Me

Hi Y'all! My name is Jackie and since I have two blogs I'll explain that since I am a teacher,my other blog is A Teaching Granny. I live on a bayou in northern LA,hence "Bayou Lady".The teaching granny blog is named after two things that things I love; teaching and being a Nana. I graduated with a degree in elementary education /grades 1-8 in 1991 magna cum laude, from ULM in Monroe, LA.(Formerly known as Northeast LA State University.)


 I’ve taught mostly lower elementary throughout my career. I love the singing, rhyming , and repetition in the lower grades classrooms! I am also a mom to three grown children.Laugh if you want to,but I am mommy to 3 sweet little dogs...chihuahua,a chorkie,and a dachshund/chihuahua mix. Since I am an empty nester,they are my babies. Works for me!

 I love living in the country! My home decor preferences are retro and nostalgic country. I am a writer,and write for several google adsense sites. I don't blog as much as I used to,but I ramble in to Louisiana Bayou Lady occasionally to update. I'll be mostly on my new teaching blog for the next few months,I think.
